A 30-year-old man was set ablaze in a mosque for stealing an amplifier. The head of the local police’s criminal investigations, Rizal Marito, said the man was chased by an angry mob from a mosque in Bekasi district near the Indonesian capital before they later set him ablaze. “The mosque’s caretaker shouted ‘Thief!’ and people chased him,” he said. The man was caught about two kilometers from the mosque and beaten, with some people in the crowd pouring petrol on the man and setting him ablaze. He died on the spot from injuries and severe burns. Marito denied local media reports that the man was a technician who was taking out the amplifier for repair. According to the police, the victim’s family will not press charges.

The General Overseer of Royal God’s Commandment Ministry aka “Obot Uboho” (Mount of Deliverance) located at Okon Edak street off Atamunu, Calabar South Local Government Area, was last Friday arrested by the police for allegedly killing an 18 months old baby boy for ritual. The pastor, a father of four had contracted a young man in the neighbourhood to supply him a child for a spiritual assignment for a fee. "One of the drug addicts who patronises one of the major drug den at Atamunu was contracted by the pastor to conduct the kidnap exercise so he can be paid for his normal dose of cocaine." reports Calabar Reporters. Biafran group forms interim govt; name Utomi, Nwodo, Soludo, Jerry Gana as members of Biafra cabinet

The Biafra Zionist Federation, BZF, has said that south eastern states have been split from Nigeria. They proceeded to announce that an interim government has been formed to run the affairs of Biafra. The announcement was made today, July 31, by the self-acclaimed President of Biafra, Barr. Benjamin Onwuka during a press briefing in Enugu. Onwuka, who was arrested in Enugu in 2014 after his group stormed the Enugu State Broadcasting Service for the purpose of declaring Biafra Republic, said the interim government will last for 30 days. Asides declaring himself the President of Biafra, Onwuka also named Prof. Pat Utomi as the foreign minister.  He said: "I am the President of Biafra; we have formed an interim government that will be in place till the next 30 days. The interim government will take off tomorrow, August 1 and last till August 31, 2017, that is 30 days.
